These things are remarkable!!! Prior to receiving them, I was fitted by a local Dr. of audiology with a pair of Oticon Dual aids, at $7000.!!!! As improbable as it might sound (pun intended), the Clear Circuit device SOUNDS BETTER. Every instrument sounds as it should, with the fullness and rich round tone of the piano to the shimmer of cymbals. They continue to get better and better as my brain adjusts to them.

I can listen to music with extended high frequencies (8 KHZ and above) and get high end (no pun intended) results. I'm enjoying music again. As an added bonus, speech intelegibility, particularly in noisy environments, is considerably improved. And don't even get me started on the sounds of nature...ah, the sounds of a summers evening in the country. By comparison, most other brands I've tried, while nice, were just too speech-centric in their programing which resulted in a rather standard squawky sound. But not yours. And the price? You guys are hands down the best.

After playing music for many years, my hearing deficiencies were to a point of embarrassing. I saw friends who were disappointed with expensive hearing aids so I was not enthused about spending that kind of money and not be totally pleased with the results. The volume control makes it easy to adjust these just to the point where sound comes into focus and everything sounds natural and normal. Besides being able to communicate with my family, friends and clients normally, I can now watch TV without closed caption. They are comfortable and virtually invisible. I love 'em.

My Name is John Garnashe and I'm a music producer/composer/bassist. I must say that I am hooked on my Sound Amps. I wear them constantly from morning to night and the biggest problem I have encountered is remembering they are in my ears and not jumping in the shower with them! They are very comfortable to wear after the initial period of feeling something in your ear. No one yet has even noticed them! And I have the kind of friends that would say something if they saw them. In work situations I feel confident and relieved to be able to hear normally again and my quality of life has improved immensely. The batteries for these hearing aids are very inexpensive (less than a dollar each) and with constant use, as I have experienced, last about a week to ten days. In closing let me say that we live in a wonderful time for technology and the people at Clear Circuit Hearing have not only developed a precision product that can improve your life in many scenarios, but have also managed to bring it within reach of the average income making this a win-win situation for all. Why, you could even afford to have a back-up pair and still not be anywhere close to what the “other people” charge for one pair! Several years ago I suffered a sudden hearing loss in my left ear. I went out in search of a hearing aid that would correct my problem. I was first fitted with an expensive "digital" in the ear hearing aid that was "supposedly programmed" to my compensate for my type of hearing loss. The unit only made my own voice sound louder in my head, and did little to help me hear and understand sounds and voices. I could hear sounds louder, but could not understand voices. After several sound adjustments, it was apparent that this unit would not work for me. I decided to purchase a very high quality brand name behind the ear unit...a digital unit with 16 bands, 4 channels... which was supposed to fix all my hearing issues. The unit was programmed to compensate for my moderate hearing loss. This unit, although it did not produce the plugged sound of the first unit, did not help me hear better. I still could not understand voices, and background noise made voice conversation impossible. Music and movies sounded terrible! I went back to the medical center where I was fitted, and they (patiently) worked with me on 10(ten)different occasions to "tweak" the unit for better sound results. After all of this frustration, I still could not hear very well from this unit. I decided to go to a specialized "hearing center" to see if they could help. They "guaranteed" that my problem was from using the wrong brand and that their brand would allow me to hear correctly. After trying this "...state of the art unit that was the very best in the entire world, made by the very best hearing aid company in the world" for a few trial days, I didn't experience any better results than the unit I already owned. I was then told that I couldn't be helped, and my problem was that I was comparing my "good ear" to my "bad ear with a hearing aid", and that just wasn't possible to match. I was also told I was being unrealistic about what to expect! (All I wanted to do is hear...I understood it couldn't be exactly the same) Up to that point I had tried 5 different units. While using any of the 5 units, voices in my left ear sounded like "The Chipmunks" talking. Voices in an open room or with background noise also were impossible to understand. And I found myself still asking people around me, "What did you say?" In an effort to find a solution, I perused the internet and came to this Close Circuit Hearing site. I listened to their sound comparison and thought.... "hey, the standard hearing aid sound is what I experience". There are no upper mid or high frequencies. I listened to what their "high Definition" Sound Amp would sound like, and realized that was what I was looking for. I called the company and was pleasantly surprised to speak to a knowledgeable individual about my type of hearing loss. He understood my frustration and assured me that this unit sounded like the web site demonstration. So I ordered it. He was right!!! When I received my new Personal Sound Amp, I put it in my ear and was blown away with the sound clarity! I could hear! The sound in my left ear was unbelievably better...voices and music were "normal". Background noise wasn't a problem anymore. The entire bandwidth of sound, from low-lows to high-highs, was clean and crisp. I could hear voices clearly without distortion. For me, sounds were now being heard "stereophonically"! I put my old expensive unit back in my ear to compare the difference, and was shocked at how "poorly" my $1500 hearing aid sounded. And the Personal Sound Amp was a fraction of the cost! As far as I am concerned, the expensive digital hearing aids do not do a good job at correctly amplifying sounds for the real world. They all do the same basic thing, and only amplify certain mid-tone frequencies, not the entire range of sound that a person is accustomed to. This makes sounds unnatural and difficult to understand. The Personal Sound Amplifier came to me ready to wear. I love it, and have been wearing it for about 3 months. Most people don't know I have it on. It doesn't "whistle", produce "harsh wind noise", nor does it drop up and down unnaturally in volume. I don't have to manually change from a quiet setting to a noisy room, inside to outside, NOTHING. It's just perfect. Even the little battery that it uses seems to last and last. I tell everybody about this fantastic piece of equipment, and how it will help them hear and enjoy sounds and music again!
